Mummification

First the mummies brain was removed but not the heart. After the brain was drained they salted the body. Cloth was stuff in the body to keep it in good shape. Then they oil the body and wrap it up tightly with lots of bandages. It helps the body from rotting. It was all supervised by a priest. The Egyptians believe that the priest can send the dead person's spirit to another place. The mummies were put into a case. Some cases were wooden cases and some were beautifully decorated. If you're a important person you were to put into a stone coffin.
