Weird and Wacky Food Festivals

Walt: write a summary. Weird and Wacky Food Festivals. Last week room 11 had to find out about weird and wacky food festivals but I will tell you the two festivals I had chosen. The Tomato festival is held in Spain. It takes place in Bunol which is near to Valencia in Spain. It is held on the last Wednesday of August once a year. The festival starts at 11 am in the morning. The first event is when they climb the pole to get the ham. It has been a strong tradition in Bunol since 1945. No one knows why the La Tomatina started. The people has to throw tomatoes at each other. The Radish festival is held in Mexico. It takes place in the centre of Oaxaca. The Mexicans did the radish festival to encourage people to farm, that means they can grow their own vegetables. The Radish Festival starts on the 23d of December once a year. The name of the festival is known as Noche de Rabanos in Spanish. Everyone gathers around in the Plaza Zocalo and they make sculptures from red radishes that can weigh up to 3 kilograms. I think we should have a weird and wacky food festival for New Zealand. New Zealand should have a potato festival.
